It’s how we intentionally make space to encounter God daily. Through prayer, we draw near to His presence, align our hearts with His will, and deepen our relationship with Him. It’s where we worship, surrender, give thanks, and bring every need before Him, believing He hears us, meets us, and transforms us in His presence.

WHAT IS PRAYER?

Prayer is how we connect with God! It’s our direct line of communication with Him and our invitation into a deeper relationship. Through prayer, we worship Him, confess and surrender our hearts, give thanks for His faithfulness, and bring every need before Him.

Prayer is more than a practice, it’s an ongoing conversation with our Creator, who invites us into loving fellowship through Jesus Christ. As followers of Jesus, prayer becomes our daily posture, remaining connected to His presence, dependent on His voice, and aligned with His will.

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” — Colossians 4:2

HOW TO PRAY

The ACTS model is a practical and powerful guide that helps us approach prayer with intentionality and confidence.

Whether you’re just beginning your prayer journey or have been praying for years, ACTS serves as a helpful framework to deepen your time with God and cultivate a consistent life of prayer. It’s not about following a formula, it’s about creating space to encounter His presence and grow in relationship with Him.

Before bringing your requests, take time to worship Him! Acknowledge His greatness, His goodness, and His faithfulness. He is not only Lord over all, He is your God. Through Jesus, you’ve been brought near and welcomed into a relationship with the Father. As you pray, thank Him for His love, His grace, and the sacrifice of His Son that made this relationship possible. Let adoration set the tone for your time with Him.

“Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours.” — 1 Chronicles 29:11

Confession is where we bring everything into the light, our actions, our thoughts, our attitudes, and the areas where we’ve fallen short. Rather than hiding, we respond to God with humility, trusting in His mercy and grace. Through Jesus, we are fully forgiven and made clean. His sacrifice covers our sin and restores us to right standing with the Father. Confession isn’t about shame, it’s about receiving grace and walking in freedom.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:9

As we reflect on all He has done, we respond with praise and thanksgiving, not just for what He’s given, but for who He is. God delights in a grateful heart. As we choose gratitude, we recognize His faithfulness, provision, and love in our lives. Thanksgiving is more than a moment, it’s a posture that draws us closer to Him.

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” — Psalms 100:4

Prayer is not just about speaking, it’s about surrendering what’s on our hearts to a Father who already knows what we need and deeply cares for us. We don’t pray from a place of uncertainty, but from confidence in His love and His will. As we ask, we trust His wisdom, His timing, and His faithfulness to provide what is best for our lives.

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him.” — 1 John 5:14–15
